DIRECTOR'S NOTES
Maine is known for lobsters, lighthouses, and the phrase "You can't get there from here." But the residents of Almost, Maine, as the author, Peter Cairani, says, do not have "funny" accents, and if this town really existed, this town would be far from the coast. Mr. Carriani envisions Almost as being in the northern most county of Maine, where it is winter from October to May. The residents of Almost are guileless and charming. They are not quirky, but their situations are! Over the past weeks, I've had the honor to work with these talented actors who bring Almost, Maine to life, and I am so excited and anxious for you to see the culmination of their hard work.
In true community spirit, we have some folks who stepped out of their comfort zones to take on the technical aspects of the show, as well as seasoned talent offering guidance. I am grateful to you all from helping Almost, Maine come to life.
Thank you to my Assistant Director, Natasha Darius, who agreed also to Stage Manage, my producer, Jeane Foley, and Victoria's Station, who let us rehearse there when needed, just to name a few people.
Enjoy your visit to Almost, Maine !
